It all started when...

After retirement from Duke Medical Center as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, and a bit before ,I discovered a world of painting. I wanted to put color on directly and not have to think about what it would be, so I developed my approach. Sit or stand and start with a blank slate. Imagine and then execute what is is in my head at the time. Alter and change as I go along and end up with something that is like a song... a note is a paint color and make all the colors work together so that the song is complete. I often listen to music as I paint so that makes good sense.  I like to paint on many surfaces and use textures to create depth and balance in the painting.
