| Once you ask me to do a commission, we can discuss what you want depicted in the painting. You give me artist license to come up with ideas, that I discuss with you, and I begin the painting. I can provide sketches but I do not usually paint from a sketch. If I am commissioned to do a dog or cat portrait, I like to meet the pet first and get an idea of his/her personality. I often take my own photos in this time together. You can also send me photos by email. At this point I ask for 1/2 of the commissioned price. My commissions begin at $500.00 and go up depending on the size and the time it takes to complete the commission. This amount is not refunded. Shipping and handling are not included in the price. Framing is optional. I often handpaint the frame and this is something we can discuss. After I have started the painting and the piece is at least half completed, I will ask you to come by my studio or will email jpegs of the painting At this point we can discuss changes. Once you approve of the painting, I will continue. After the piece is finished I can only make minor changes. Major changes in the painting composition will be based on an hourly rate.
